These are the questions BC owners ask us most often before they hire anyone. The short answers are above; below are a few topics that deserve more space. If your question is not covered, call, text or email and you will get a direct answer from a senior strategist.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $1,999 per month month-to-month, or $1,499 per month billed annually, in Canadian dollars plus 5% GST (and provincial sales tax only where it applies to the service). Elite and Enterprise plans cost more and cover more channels and regions.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. Every plan runs month to month, and 30 days' notice ends it. Choosing annual billing is optional; it simply brings the monthly rate down.
Is the first conversation really free?
Yes. Eligible trades businesses get the opening half-hour conversation at no charge, and nothing has to be bought afterwards.
How long before I see results?
Paid ads can produce calls within weeks. Profile and review improvements show within a month or two. Local SEO usually takes three to six months, longer in competitive Lower Mainland categories and often less in small towns.
We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
We cannot promise it will be. What we can do is keep every account in your name, report booked jobs rather than vanity numbers, set targets in writing, and let you leave with 30 days' notice if we do not earn our place.
Who owns the website, profile and ad accounts?
You do. Your domain, website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics are set up or kept in your name, and they stay with you if you leave.
What will reports show?
Calls, texts and quote requests by region and service, ad spend and cost per lead, profile activity, and booked jobs where you share them. Reports are written in plain language.
Can you promise rankings or leads?
No. Nobody controls Google's results or your market. We commit to the work, the measurement and honest reporting.
Can you market a business that covers several BC regions?
Yes. That is the core of what we do. Each region gets its own pages, budget and calendar, and we tell you if a region is not worth the cost.
Are you a contractor?
No. BCAgency.ca is a digital marketing and business consulting service. We never install, repair or service anything.
Do you work with businesses outside the trades?
Yes, with local service businesses that rely on nearby customers, such as cleaners, movers, property managers and small professional offices. Our focus is businesses that serve a defined area.
Do you need access to my accounts?
We need user access to your website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics. We ask for access as a user rather than ownership, so you can remove us at any time.
Can you help us advertise rebate programs?
We can mention that programs exist and link to the official pages, such as CleanBC Better Homes. We do not quote amounts or promise eligibility, because terms change and customers should confirm with the administrator.
Price and value
The cheapest plan is not always the cheapest option. A $1,999 plan that brings in work worth many times its cost is a good deal; a plan of any size that produces enquiries you cannot serve is not. Start with the maths on the pricing page: average job value, gross margin and close rate tell you what an enquiry is worth to you.
If the numbers do not justify a monthly plan yet, we will say so and point you to the basics you can do yourself, such as completing your Google Business Profile and asking every customer for a review.
Contracts, ownership and leaving
Plans are month-to-month with 30 days' notice. Everything we build or manage stays in your name: domain, website, profile, ad accounts, analytics and call-tracking numbers where possible. We have seen too many owners lose a website or a review history when they left an agency, and we do not want to be the cause of that.
Before you hire anyone, ask who owns each account. If the answer is the agency, think carefully.
When a previous agency let you down
Many owners come to us after a bad experience. Common stories include reports full of impressions with no booked jobs, ad accounts the owner could not see, and template websites with the wrong town names. If that sounds familiar:
- Recover access to your accounts first, whatever you decide next.
- Ask for reporting on booked jobs, not just traffic.
- Start with a limited scope and expand only when the numbers justify it.
Our about page explains how we work and what we will not promise.
Serving more than one part of BC
Owners often ask whether they can rank everywhere they work. The honest answer is that you can be visible in every region you genuinely serve, but each one needs its own effort. The areas hub shows how we divide the province, and the guide on serving several BC regions explains how to decide which regions to add, and when.
What we need from you
Marketing works best as a partnership. Over the first month, we will usually ask for:
- Access to your website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics, as a user rather than an owner.
- Real photos of your crews, vehicles and finished jobs in the towns you serve.
- Rough numbers: average job values, close rates and which services pay best.
- A monthly count of booked jobs from marketing, which can be as simple as a list from your office.
- Quick answers when we check facts about your services, licences or service area.
The more of this we have, the faster we can tell which regions and services are paying off. Owners who share booked-job numbers get far more useful reports than those who share only clicks.
Rules we follow on your behalf
Marketing in Canada carries legal obligations, and we keep your campaigns on the right side of them. We do not write fake reviews, we do not make claims about results or rebates that cannot be supported, and we only send commercial emails or texts to people who have agreed to receive them. Where a regulator such as Technical Safety BC is relevant, we link to it rather than interpret its rules.
Reporting and communication
You receive a monthly report in plain language, plus regular check-ins by phone, text or email. On higher plans, strategy calls happen monthly. You can ask about any number at any time.
